209By "text", I meant you can use <b>, <a> and <br>, but that's all stuff that shows up as text--you can't include images or formatting in one-line or short stories, apart from what you pass in template_data.
For contacting users, there are the notifications.sendEmail and notifications.send API methods. For notifications.sendEmail, you have to have already requested the "email" extended permission, possibly using FB.Connect.showPermissionDialog when the user first logged into your site. Both of those methods are session-optional, but many methods become session-required for Facebook Connect applications, and the docs don't say which ones they are, so you'd need to experiment with them. If they are session-required for FC applications, I think you'd only be able to contact them that way while they are logged into your site, which I suppose isn't as useful. /ajax:getreplytoitemform/209/209/209%3A209<reply>
